Lisa was drawn to massage therapy after working twelve years in the healthcare field. Lisa graduated from Wellington College of Remedial Massage Therapy in 2007 and is in good standing with the Massage Therapy Association of Manitoba (MTAM).
Lisa loves being a massage therapist. She listens to her patients and works hard to address the unique challenges and preferences of each individual patient. Lisa uses assessment, treatment and a variety of massage techniques allowing her to customize each massage to target specific imbalances of joints, ligaments and muscles that are the main cause of pain.
The ability to help and educate her patients is extremely important to Lisa therefore she’s constantly upgrading her education. Massage techniques Lisa uses include but are not limited to: prenatal (pregnancy) massage, deep tissue massage, craniosacral therapy, joint mobilization, soft tissue release, Swedish massage, cupping, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization and advanced trigger point therapy. Lisa’s skill set allows her to treat patients of all ages with various issues ranging from common aches and pains to specific injuries.
Lisa was a recipient of the Heather Whittaker Memorial Award for demonstrating outstanding commitment to ongoing learning and professional development for 2013-2015 and 2015-2017 credit year. Continuing education in the area of massage therapy plays a big part in Lisa’s free time. Her interests include random Winnipeg leisure guide activities, gardening, refinishing furniture, going to the occasional Blue Bomber game and doing family activities with her husband and two children.
